Of course we are all disappointed that we did not quite get there, but you can take pride in your efforts over the past few months.
We knew when we undertook this fight that passing Amendment 58 would be a David-vs-Goliath struggle. We faced an opposition with overwhelming resources - in fact they waged the most expensive opposition campaign Colorado has ever seen, but it was the right fight at the right time.
You can be sure that Governor Ritter will continue the conversation about how we modernize this state's archaic severance-tax scheme so that we can make smarter investment decisions with those dollars for Colorado's future.
And he will continue to stand up and fight to make college more affordable for our children, invest in renewable energy and protect our water, land, wildlife and communities. Thank you for you generosity and your energy. Colorado is better for your efforts.
